Creature sighted twice by three men while camping in northern Minn
Three men were on a fishing and camping trip near Lake of the Woods when they saw a tall hairy figure watching them from behind a tree. The figure ran away bipedally, and a rotten stench was noticed in the area. As the men walked along railroad tracks bordered by swamp, a football-sized rock flew past them from the side with no one visible, and they later saw the figure run across the tracks ahead of them. They returned to camp and told local residents, some of whom said they had also seen a hairy person.

Around 1975, the witness and a companion were returning to their vehicle after checking a trap line near Horicon Marsh. From about 80 yards away on a hilltop they heard heavy movement and smelled an overpowering rotten-egg sulphur odor. While living on a military base and walking a trail past eroded hillsides to the beach, the witness repeatedly smelled a strong odor and had small rocks tossed at the back of the carried board. The witness once saw the hairy backside of a large figure running into the hollows, and a friend who teased its speech and threw a rock was chased. Soon after, military police closed the area and the hillside was leveled.

A teacher and companions are said to have encountered a tall creature on at least six occasions near an old bridge in Cooke County, Texas. The encounters occurred at night from a vehicle, with the figure seen as a tall silhouette in headlights and heard making threatening noises while moving through brush. On one occasion the creature was described as bouncing a limb, whose height was measured the next day, and daytime searches reportedly found bones in the creek. Shots were allegedly fired at the creature without apparent effect.
