In February 1977 five youths camped in two VW buses at a remote, densely forested campground in the Trinity Alps. On two consecutive nights around 10:30 p.m., something rushed down the steep hill behind camp and violently rocked the bus the witness slept in. The first morning packs were found strewn and torn open; the second night a large boulder was found wedged behind the bus tire and the other bus had shifted about five feet toward the river. The group reported seeing nothing because windows were iced over, noting only hillside skid marks, rushing noises, and a brief strong odor before leaving early.

Three children walking on a wooded footpath noticed a tall female-like figure with a smaller juvenile standing by a tree off to the side. The larger figure stared at them, gave off a dead-animal smell, stepped toward them, growled and bared its teeth after being pointed out. The group fled toward a residence while hearing branches breaking, prolonged howling and screaming, and trees being beaten.

After pulling a pop-up camper into a lakeside clearing at sunset, the witness and his girlfriend noticed the woods go deathly silent. They then heard crashes, a cackle and growl, and something like a steamroller coming through the woods parting the treetops. They threw gear into the camper and drove out without stopping until pavement.

The family heard a radio news bulletin about a Bigfoot sighting coming their way. That night hunting dogs reacted violently on chains, farm animals were agitated, lights were turned out, guns were retrieved, a strong bad smell was noticed outside, and one dog was later missing.

She heard the screen door open and shut, smelled a foul odor, heard heavy shuffling steps and breathing with a soft growl behind her bunk, and felt something large and furry trace her face. She next remembers waking on the floor, and the next morning a bunkmate said she had seen a big black hairy creature standing behind the witness.

The witness says that for several years while hunting along a creek in East Texas he repeatedly had objects thrown past him and heard rustling suggesting something large moving around him. He never saw anything during this period and dismissed the incidents as natural at the time. He notes only he, his father and a friend used the area.

The guest relayed his father's account of a night when the family was home while the grandfather was away hauling freight. After a foul odor and prolonged barking by the guard dog, a long loud vocalization was heard, the dog was apparently dragged from under the chicken-coop camper, and three household members separately reported red eyes staring through windows. By morning the dog was dead and mutilated, all chickens were gone with feathers and footprints scattered, and the coop hatch had been opened from underneath.

When he stepped toward it, the shape stood up, turned, and crashed through the alders and down over a hill toward a creek while he ran home. The witness was lying in a tent at night in woods near Mendocino when loud stomping and crashing of small trees was heard about fifty yards away. The sounds lasted about 30 seconds and were interpreted as a biped moving quickly, apparently pursued by barking dogs. After the crashing stopped, a dog was heard yelping as if badly injured, then silence fell. The next morning the witness found broken vegetation but no clear sign of its cause and moved camp.
Camper experiences odd odors and sounds, feels presence
The witness was camping with family near the Elwah River and was sitting outside after others went to sleep when a rock struck the tent twice. The family moved to their car, and the witness later stood outside in darkness sensing a very tall man-like presence nearby, hearing breathing, footsteps and snapping twigs and smelling a musky foul odor. After headlights showed nothing, the odor and sense of unease lifted and the family returned to the tent for the night before breaking camp the next day.
College students get approached by sasquatch and shoot at it
Four college geology students camping at night heard howling from a canyon and then saw the outline of a huge bipedal animal on the road in moon and campfire light. When the animal approached, one student fired a rifle several times, after which it crossed the road and moved noisily up the opposite slope through brush. A responding deputy examined the area the next day and reported indistinct impressions, small pushed-over trees and long uphill strides, but no blood or fur.

When they reached the spot no one was visible and only disturbed murky water remained. A few days later a flood fence in the area was found torn up.
Possible tracks found in snow and mud on family property many years ago near Lake Hughes
Four deer hunters stopped at a relative's ranch for lunch and fed hogs when horses in a back pasture became highly agitated for about 30 minutes. They found very large, deep tracks circling the pasture with a strong wet-dog and rotten-egg odor still present. They followed the bipedal trackway to a very steep hill where the steps ascended out of reach, tried and failed to replicate the stride and step-up, then left without ever seeing the maker.

The witness returned at dusk to check catfish lines on a river on a relative's land after hunting. After hearing loud breathing and smelling a strong odor, the witness saw a roughly six-foot wet fur-covered figure about ten feet away with river scum on its side, which stood still. The witness fled immediately, returned with a relative the next morning to find no tracks but estimate height from a nearby branch, and has since avoided the area.

The witness was heading inside for supper when a dog barked toward the river. The witness saw a large shaggy upright creature about 100 yards away running toward the river, which stopped, faced the witness, and gave a loud high-pitched scream described as roar-like. A strong rotten-fish odor was noticed, and the witness fled inside with the dog.

They smelled something like something dead, heard heavy thudding footsteps and grunts, and saw a very tall figure swaying behind a tree about thirty yards away, with limb-breaking sounds to the side. A group camping by a lake at night heard animal sounds go quiet followed by a very loud vocalization that rose from low to a high shrill pitch. Other campers from near the mountain came down the trail with their gear to leave, saying the scream had been right by them and they had seen something run toward and past the witness camp. The witness group did not see anything but noticed a strong dirty or wet dog smell after leaving their tents and waited until daylight to leave.
