Two people were camping on an island when they heard strange noises through the night into the morning. Around 8 a.m. the noises stopped and they heard something large running on a nearby island, accompanied by a very bad odor. They later found many large tracks around their island, plus a pile of clam shells and a large indentation that had not been there earlier.

The witness turned on a light and saw a crouching figure that then stood upright and ran away quickly with long strides. In June 2001 the witness's children discovered large footprints in the field behind the family mobile home and photographed them. About a week later the children heard something running across the hillside while playing at the creek, and the family dog chased it and later returned covered in slime. The children later encountered large rocks rolling toward them on the hill, and the witness heard a loud prolonged growl, with a horrible unidentified odor lingering after the hillside activity.

While driving away they saw a large dark upright figure with glowing yellowish-orange eyes near the road and noticed a strong musk odor.

The witness and a companion were fishing at a watershed in the morning. The witness heard splashing described as running through shallow water, then later saw a large dark-haired figure in a swampy area that quickly disappeared into the woods. The companion did not see the figure but saw branches moving.

The witness, a Marine designated marksman, was ordered to kill an aggressive animal near Lake D on a Navy base on the Georgia-Florida border. After hearing a splash and seeing a branch thrown into the water one evening, he returned the next evening and watched a tall, long-haired biped cross a road about 40 yards away. He shot it twice, and it collapsed and died. Superiors and two men in a white car secured the body, told him to stay in place and later to forget the incident, and no written statement was ever taken.

A team of four was conducting a nighttime sound survey from a clear-cut overlooking a river valley while one member did a live radio interview from a parked vehicle near the treeline. The interviewer heard repeated charging sounds, footfalls and a grunt-growl from dense brush a few feet away while two teammates uphill watched with a night-vision device. The uphill observers reported a huge 8-foot-plus figure about 25 feet away leaning side to side to look through the trees and moving its arms. The episode lasted about 30 minutes, followed later by a distant scream, and a next-day search found disturbed soil but no footprints.

She stayed in the vehicle without seeing what made the sounds. Shortly after, her partner arrived by a different trail and said he had found a freshly killed deer torn in half with steam, blood, and a blood trail, but had heard nothing.

Shortly after, a heavy object landed near him, which he later interpreted as thrown, followed by guttural vocalizations unlike known wildlife and a skunky odor at a suspected bedding area.

The witness waited alone in a small meadow while her husband hiked ahead with dogs. A strong putrid smell arrived with total silence as a huge dark mass approached to the wood line about 25 feet away and watched her for about ten minutes. She felt internal terror and a sense of being mentally checked out, pretended normality by doing beadwork, and knew it left when the smell faded.

The guest returned to the same spot with martial arts students and did a loud whoop toward a dark silhouette across the river. Something behind them in a spruce grove ran toward them growling and breaking dry twigs. The group fled in a vehicle and saw nothing in the high beams.

The guest was on a solo boar hunt and camping in a primitive lean-to in Arkansas. At night he heard a wet low huff, then a large hairy biped tore out of the brush and charged toward his camp. He hid in the brush, watched it sniff the air and look toward him, then fled on foot and returned at daylight to collect his gear and leave.

Two companions shoveling snow noticed barefoot-like prints and followed them into the woods. They watched two large greyish furry figures, one pounding and shaking a thin tree and the other digging in snow, while noticing a foul odor. The creatures vocalized and ran off when they noticed the witnesses, who briefly tried to follow before giving up.

The witness and a companion drove to Hemet Lake late at night intending a walk and sat by the car. They heard something large breaking branches and moving down a canyon behind them, then smelled a strong rotten wet-dog odor and felt watched, so they left. When they returned about an hour later, a large steel trash bin had been knocked over and had a large circular dent.
