The witness was sitting alone in a deer stand in very dark, rainy conditions before dawn when a musky odor was present. He heard a whistle followed by repeated whooping from different directions, along with slow walking sounds and large branches breaking, which faded after several minutes. He stayed in the stand and noticed the odor was gone after sunrise.

The witness was photographing nature along a loop trail behind a museum when repeated violent shaking of branches followed by loud ground thumps was heard from dense cover without any source being seen. After a third occurrence the witness left quickly and, after covering several hundred yards, heard a very loud thump about 80 feet behind. The witness then ran back to the museum, briefly losing the trail before finding the markers again.

The witness slowed and watched it for about 10-15 seconds from about 20-25 feet away before passing and turning around, by which time it was gone. After returning to the spot they noticed a strong foul odor and large ground impressions with flattened plants.

The vehicle passed within a few feet of the creature, then they turned around to look again. The creature had left the roadside and left a trail of disturbed vegetation and indistinct footprints. They described its size, build, hair, and facial features in detail.

A couple driving south on a dark highway late at night reported a tall lanky figure standing on the shoulder as they passed at highway speed. The driver saw the figure briefly while both occupants noticed a strong foul musky odor. They noted fresh roadkill nearby and continued to a gas station without turning back.

The witness and a companion were driving on a dirt road in daylight when they noticed a sweet but dead-like odor. Shortly after rounding a curve they watched a small dark short-haired quadruped cross from left to right into the woods. He rolled over and made out a very broad-shouldered silhouette with a head between trees about seven yards away. He turned away without telling family and waited for daylight, and the group left early after two nights.

He then watched through binoculars as a large hair-covered figure struck a log against a dead tree. The witness was lying awake in a tent at a remote lake camp around 1:30 a.m. while three companions slept. He heard footsteps circling camp, smelled a strong animal odor, and saw a large shadowy figure lift his backpack above the tent and appear to try to open it. After he yelled, the figure dropped the pack onto the tent and left camp on foot as the others woke and heard its retreat.

The witness reported a strange smell and a growl-like noise from in front of the car, then turned on the headlights and saw a large long-haired figure with large eyes leaning on a gravel pile. They left the area, with the companion later saying something large ran toward the road.

Two canine handlers were driving separate Tahoes home late at night between Ozona and Big Lake. A large black animal on all fours rushed from the ditch at the lead Tahoe, turned and paced it for 50 to 150 feet at 80 to 85 mph at window height. It lacked a horse or cow-like neck and elongated head, then fell back. The trailing officer saw no detail.

The witness was lying awake in a tent at a Rain Lake campsite with a companion already asleep when a powerful but silent ground thud was felt very close to the tent, followed by a brief skunk-like odor. Later that night the witness heard an unusually loud whoop-like sound first taken for a loon. In the morning an indistinct disturbance entering camp and a freshly snapped tree stump were found, and while hiking out the witness felt watched.

The witness was checking a corn pile behind his home when he came upon a tall hairy creature eating corn. The creature was first seen sitting with its back to him, then stood and faced him from about 25 yards away. After regarding him briefly it walked away into deeper woods. The sighting lasted about a minute in clear morning light.
