He left quickly, and while walking out through a field and old road he loaded his pistol, heard heavy paired footsteps and something keeping pace with him off the road. The sounds stopped at a creek, and he ran to his truck and left.

The witness and his son were deer hunting from a blind in darkness before dawn. After the son woke the sleeping witness, they heard something large moving fast through brush behind the blind. It screamed, stomped hard enough to shake the ground, snapped limbs, and grunted and growled before leaving quickly. The pair then left the area immediately.

A large hairy biped rushed down the hill on all fours, landed in the road and slid, causing the bear to flee. The biped then stood, stared, and bluff-charged twice with loud vocalizations until the witness fled on foot and was later picked up by drivers in a pickup.

In August 1988 on a rural farm with woods and creeks, the witness and a relative stood outside after dark to listen for a strange sound. They heard loud cries alternating from woods on both sides of the road where two creeks met, suggesting two animals, while noticing a strong musty odor and unusual silence of normal night sounds. She described hearing loud limb breaks and an elephant-like scream, smelling a dead-like odor, finding footprints, and losing livestock and pets with entrails removed. She twice saw an 8-foot hairy figure on the property, and four armed relatives fired from the roof as the figure ran past a barn and jumped a fence unaffected.

Over five or six visits he saw two juveniles inside the house sniffing and eating muffins, interacted with a young golden-haired female on the porch, saw many eyeshine when a TV played cartoons, and watched a huge alpha male called Papa talk with the woman outside at night before leaving.
