Vocalization in New Hampshire
After the family guard dog died, the household noticed an absence of bears, deer and other animals and a series of odd events. Large and strategic trees blocked paths to the creek, owl-like hoots and coyote-like sounds approached each other then turned violent, and something breathed, growled, scraped and slapped at windows, trailer and shed, mostly when the witness worked nights. The other dog became afraid to go out alone.
Wood knock
About a year later the same couple returned to Highway 128, made whoop calls, then heard wood knocks and tree breaks and smelled a dead animal/skunk odor for about three minutes.
Hunters are intimidated out of their hunting ground near Bear Valley
Two deer hunters reported that after a rock flew over their heads in a meadow, something unseen paralleled them down a trail for about a mile while throwing or rolling large rocks alongside them. Back at camp that night all four hunters heard a large tree fall across the creek after noticing an unusual absence of wildlife all day. Believing something did not want them in the valley, the group packed up and left that night.
Scream near Stanwood, Washington
The following evening the witness returned to the same spot with a friend and the same loud roaring and breaking sounds were heard again for several minutes before the friend left.
Wood knock
While clearing trail, the witness heard weak knocks, exchanged loud knocks across water, left fruit on a stump, and later saw vegetation move; the fruit was gone next morning.
Tree break near Humtulips, Washington
The witness and an investigator waited at the site at dusk, heard large-animal movement on both sides, and watched a live fir fall toward them with no wind.
Camper details possible encounters in 2005 and again in summer 2009 near Trout Lake
A group was camping overnight at a remote forested lakeside camp. After hearing distant screams that seemed to shift position and prolonged branch-breaking around camp, the witness stayed awake listening while others slept. The witness heard heavy running and breathing pass the RV and noticed moonlight through the windows dim briefly, then later the companion's son fled his tent to the RV reporting tree-banging, movement, darkness at the tent, and a voice imitation. No one saw anything, and the next morning knocking elicited whistle replies from the woods.

On a return to look for evidence, the witness watched short pine tops shake violently and heard a harsh loud scream, later noting suspicious tree breaks.
