Strange feeling of being watched reported by couple.

The witness and her husband paddled by canoe from a creek into a lake for a routine fishing trip. Near the lake opening they heard a loud hollow yell or scream from the far end and felt watched, moving into a nearby bay out of sight. In the bay they encountered a heavy overpowering unfamiliar odor and then left without fishing, paddling quickly back to their vehicle. They did not discuss it until after driving away, and the witness told no one else for almost 10 years.
