The witness and a companion were camping at night when they heard something heavy climbing the bluff toward camp. They fled to the truck and drove slowly past the camp entrance with headlights on. A tall, hairy biped stepped into the road, stared at them, then walked away on two legs. They found larger-than-human footprints and disturbed ground the next day.

While on a solo night escape-and-evasion march at Fort Jackson, the witness stopped at a fire-lane crossing around 2 a.m. in total darkness. Something approached, moved away after being challenged, made growling talk-like sounds, then approached again before crashing away through brush. Startled, the witness ran and eventually reached another soldier with a fire and truck.

The witness said his son reported having rocks thrown toward him while bow hunting on the private land. The son also experienced shaking bushes without seeing anything and heard odd sounds there. The witness did not see these events himself.

The witness and his son were leaving after bow hunting when the witness stopped to pull a trail camera card at dark. A basketball-sized dull blue light with whitish edges appeared from a bottom, shifting toward amber at times. It moved deliberately through trees, passed over the witness, and lit the woods as it went uphill.
