Unidentified sound
The guest hiked up a snowy mountain to retrieve a child's blanket and heard strange animal noises he assumed was a bear. The source mirrored his movements down the mountain. Near his car he turned and saw an indistinct light moving in and out of trees, then left.

The guest responded to sounds outside the same cabin property with his two sons. He heard two different sounds, walked trails through the woods toward them and pushed the presence off onto an adjoining lease. Horses that had huddled in a far corner returned to graze, and a small dog stopped barking from under the house once the area was cleared.

After the prior road encounter, while driving on a remote Kansas road early in the morning with dim headlights, the witness saw something cross the road very low to the ground. It moved like a pouncing cat but appeared to army-crawl on tiptoes and fingertips, which struck him as unnatural. He considered turning around to look closer but decided not to.

While coon hunting at night in timber with a companion, the witness saw balls of light drift across in front of them. They described what they saw to each other and confirmed it. A few minutes later it drifted back by against any wind, appearing as a bluish-white ball larger than a basketball.
Paranormal encounter in Virginia
A man interviewed about five years earlier described encountering three figures in black cloaks at Devil's Marble Yard across the James River just after sundown. He could see no faces or hands, only blackness, and all three were the same size and build. He thought they floated rather than walked and assumed they were Satan worshipers, and he never returned.

Five investigators went to the cemetery at night with a word-generating ghost box and lights. Two men saw three shapes in trees that dropped down, approached, stood on two legs, and vanished when spotlighted. Lights shut off, something circled them, and they later found very large hoof-like prints and saw a large cat cross the trail.

While home alone during a heavy nighttime storm, the witness watched lightning flashes reveal a person-like figure standing by a power pole behind the house. The figure appeared to change positions between flashes. He loaded a gun, stayed on the couch, and found no tracks in the morning because rain had washed the ground.

About a year after the first sighting, the witness returned to hunt the same woods and heard someone walking. After calling out and firing a shot in the air, something charged through the brush breaking branches. He fled and ran all the way home without looking back.

A gray fog rose from the water and chased the four-wheeler down the trail to the tree line. After retrieving items, the witness rode back through the fog, which followed back to the lake and then settled back over the water.

Frightened, she left, and the fog followed her down the road to the tree line where it stopped, and she said she would never return.
