The witness was at home overnight with bedroom windows open after letting her dog out when she heard a loud siren-like howl, followed a few minutes later by a fainter similar sound from farther away. She judged the sounds unlike coyote, wolf, or domestic dog and described them as a single drawn-out whooooooo that rose and then stopped. She also reported a strong trashy skunk-like odor. No visual contact was described.

The witness hiked a loop trail near Lake Cushman with three family members in late morning. The group heard a mournful 8-10 second howl/groan and about 30 minutes later encountered a strong skunk- and ammonia-like odor near a creek bridge on both sides of the trail. They also noticed unusual uprooted mushrooms along the trail. No creature was seen.

The witness and a relative were camped in a tent by a small lake after backpacking and scouting for elk. Around 4 a.m. the witness awoke to branches breaking about 50 yards away followed by an extremely loud scream/howl he said he had never heard before. After a few minutes he heard more branches breaking, then nothing further. Frightened, he packed up and left with the relative about half an hour later.

The witness stepped outside the home on consecutive February nights and noticed a strong wet-fur odor, progressive dog barking followed by eerie high-pitched calls from across the river, and repeated knocking sounds like wood impacts. The witness and a companion were camping at an isolated lake over a long weekend. On Saturday morning they began hearing very loud guttural scream-growls that seemed to warn them away from certain areas, including the path to the lake, and the sounds continued into Sunday. Overnight they heard cooking gear clanging and a heavy thump like logs dumped beside their trailer, but in the morning the gear was largely in place and no logs were found, and the companion also reported a strong putrid smell.

About 2 a.m., dozens of campers were awakened by loud prolonged screams from the woods east of the campground. Six campers entered the woods with flashlights toward the sound about 200-300 ft from the perimeter, smelled a foul odor and heard loud brush movement and wood cracking, then retreated. The screams lasted 20-25 minutes total, fading to the east with a similar sound from the south, followed by coyotes howling.

Something charged toward them from a wooded hill, crashing through vegetation while emitting a terrifying howl/growl, and the witness glimpsed a black figure. Both girls fled back to their group in tears and left the area immediately.

The witness and a companion were fishing at Spring Lake in the evening. From across the road they heard loud howling with grunting and angry sounds while brush was being thrashed. They looked toward the sounds for some time but saw nothing, then left in their truck past the area. They later drove nearby forest roads searching for tracks or a sighting but found nothing further.

After dark they smelled a strong putrid odor, heard distant whistle/howl sounds and a closer loud howl, then heard deliberate footsteps crunching in snow approaching the firelight. After shouting and firing a pistol shot, they heard a grunt and running footsteps, then fired repeatedly and drove off the mountain the same night.

As they circled back, an unseen animal tracked them, producing a strong foul odor and a high-pitched squeal before thrashing off toward the mother waiting at the truck. They later found uprooted small trees, additional tracks in camp, hair on fencing, and a woody debris structure, and heard screaming and a howl that prompted a relative to leave camp.

That night she and her sister heard very loud repeated whoop-like calls followed by a long sad wailing cry from the woods behind their unfinished house. She interpreted the daytime pacing and nighttime calls as connected and attributed them to Bigfoot.
