The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.

The guest and his wife joined other researchers for an overnight investigation of a private property where the owner reported pounding and odd signs. The next morning the team found trampled vegetation where the figure had stood and noted they had audio of the event.

The sounds lasted about 20 minutes and stopped without footsteps after a distant camper door was heard.

A large branch landed near him, prompting him to fire a flare gun as a warning, after which something large crashed away through brush sounding like a heavy person running with long strides. He returned to find his companions asleep and did not report the incident until later.

On the ninth night of solo primitive camping, the witness was lying awake in a tent when a very loud thud sounded in front of the tent. Movement was then heard in palmettos beside the tent, followed by human-like whistles exchanged from opposite sides and a guttural growl from behind the tent. The witness stayed inside without looking out and found a snapped limb nearby the next morning before leaving camp early.

The witness drove into a swamp conservation area and spent time making loud vocal noises on a road near parked logging equipment. Something in the adjacent woods approached to within about 20 yards, making heavy bipedal footsteps and loud thrashing in reeds and brush without becoming visible. The witness retreated to the car, repositioned it, and tried for about an hour to elicit further response, later hearing a growl and movement alongside and then away.

The witness was riding a four-wheeler on private property to handle trail cameras near dusk. After topping a ridge and shutting off the vehicle, the witness saw a tall hairy biped about 30 feet away running away and knocking over a small tree. The witness heard crashing sounds during the flight and noticed a faint musky smell afterward.

The guest took his two young sons camping in a steep Colorado canyon to practice survival skills. During the night they heard a loud scream from across the canyon that approached their camp within a minute. For hours something circled them just beyond firelight, snapping large branches, making heavy thuds, and later mumbling, whistling and throwing sticks. The guest kept a large fire and shotgun through the night until morning.

Late at night the woods went silent and heavy bipedal footsteps approached the tent, then a very large hand pushed the tent wall inward. After the friend's father mumbled in his sleep the hand withdrew, and the visitor rummaged through a cooler on the picnic table before walking into the lake and swimming away. In the morning the cooler had been moved, items were strewn, and an oily feel and stale smell were noticed.

After their boat motor failed, two companions camped overnight by a campfire on the riverbank. Around midnight they heard something approaching through the woods, followed by loud growling, grunting, stomping and tree knocks. One of them shone a light across the narrow river and saw a head, shoulder and red eyes looking back before it retreated, continuing noise for over an hour. They left at first light and were later towed back to the landing.

While standing around a campfire after midnight on a winter backpacking trip, the witness and two friends repeatedly heard loud bipedal steps approach when they looked away. They charged into the woods to confront it. They never saw it but heard it run on two feet, jump off a cliff line, and continue down the valley.

Early in the morning while heading to fish along a creek, the witness saw a large bipedal creature standing in the water about 15 to 20 yards away. The creature left the creek, struck a tree with its hand, stomped its foot and vocalized, then ran into the forest. The witness watched for about 45 seconds and also noted a musky animal-like odor.

Two brothers parked for a late-night talk on a forest road when heavy footsteps surrounded the car on several sides and powerful growls approached the rear. After repositioning the car in moonlight they saw a dark shape shifting in a tree, heard heavy breathing, and watched a very tall muscular dark creature cross the road and peer from behind a stump. A second slender gray creature leapt across the road, the large one dropped to all fours and left, and the brothers later realized hours had passed.

He shouted at the presence and later woke to tree knocks and varied whooping sounds from multiple directions lasting about 15 minutes, and found no sign in the morning.

The witness and a companion were camping overnight in a tent near a lake. Around 2 a.m. the witness awoke to very loud, heavy-sounding bipedal stomping moving through camp with branches breaking, which stopped abruptly when he moved to reach for a knife. He stayed still while feeling watched, then eventually fell back asleep. The companion separately reported hearing loud walking in camp that night, and no tracks or disturbance were found in the morning.

The witness stopped to rest while mountain biking and noticed a cluster of large barefoot-like footprints off the trail, which she photographed for scale. The witness yelled, climbed down, fled to an open corn field, and called a companion for a ride.

After a brief glimpse of something moving through camp, the group heard heavy circling footsteps at night, found campfire logs moved and the fire relit, and saw a shape run up the hillside. Frightened, they called other investigators for support, stayed awake until morning, then left quickly and the witness avoided the woods for months.

After repositioning along a road, the witness heard a final very loud knock from a large tree about 30 yards away and left the area as darkness fell. The witness and a companion were on foot scouting hunting ground in daylight when the witness noticed a large reddish-brown figure moving in the timber nearby. The witness saw only from the mid-shoulders up for a few seconds before turning toward the companion and looking back to find it gone. The companion did not see the figure but heard movement and footfalls, and a strong musky odor was noticed as the figure moved away.
