Around 2 a.m. on a clear night in late October, the witness heard growls and other noises outside his home and went out with a flashlight to investigate. He reported a strong dead-animal odor, movement across the road, and green eyeshine, then watched a tall dark bipedal animal cross the road into his woods and viewed it at close range in the treeline before retreating to the house. He reported hearing noises through the rest of the night and finding a few tracks afterward.
Woman has a possible encounter involving her vehicle while driving near Beaverton
The witness was driving home at night on a dirt backroad when something struck the truck, leaving scratches and a dent on the passenger door. After calling for help, the witness with two relatives found footprints along the road and photographed them. While photographing they saw green eye-shine above the brush and a large upright shadowy outline, then heard wood knocks, growling and heavy footsteps before the eyes disappeared.
Reoccurring activity on a farm near Fife Lake
Around 3:30 a.m. on a warm night in late summer 2011, the witness ran outside with a rifle and flashlight after hearing a chicken squawking. About 100 feet away behind the garage, the witness saw huge orange eyes staring from above a chicken coop and estimated the figure at 6 to 7 feet tall. After briefly looking down to ready the rifle, the figure was gone, and the witness heard something crashing fast through brush to the southwest with heavy breathing. A chicken was found alive but missing rear feathers with a pile of feathers nearby and no digging.

The witness was hunting raccoons at night with hounds alongside a relative in marshy woods. After the dogs treed and the chased animal left the tree, the witness moved to a ridge to listen, noticed eyeshine, then saw a tall hair-covered animal about twenty feet away on the trail. The two looked at each other briefly, the witness does not recall how it departed, and a foul smell followed back toward the truck. The next morning the witness recovered the hounds still treed with a bobcat.

Late at night the witness was driving east through a national forest when he noticed red eyeshine in the road ahead. He braked to a stop and found a very tall, slender, fur-covered figure standing in front of the vehicle, staring at him for about a minute and a half. The figure then walked off the road, crossed to the nearby tree line while looking back several times, and disappeared into the forest.
Odor in Michigan (1977)
The guest relayed his father's account of a night when the family was home while the grandfather was away hauling freight. After a foul odor and prolonged barking by the guard dog, a long loud vocalization was heard, the dog was apparently dragged from under the chicken-coop camper, and three household members separately reported red eyes staring through windows. By morning the dog was dead and mutilated, all chickens were gone with feathers and footprints scattered, and the coop hatch had been opened from underneath.
