Campers describe rock throwing on Forbush Lake
A family camping in a tent at the mouth of a river woke around 5 a.m. to sounds of something moving in the water followed by repeated large splashes described as rocks being thrown. They retreated to their boat offshore, where the witness shone a flashlight and saw a red reflective glint near the tent. They waited until daylight, found nothing at the spot, then broke camp and left.

Crew members on a fishing boat anchored off Village Island noticed a strong unfamiliar odor after entering a bay. After dark a large crouched creature with elongated red eyes appeared on the shoreline and was watched for almost an hour. One experienced hunter aboard said it was not a bear and chose not to shoot.

A few days before the October chum opening, the guest and three others were anchored off Village Island when banging, chirping whistles and a strong stink were noticed. In the spotlight two upright creatures were seen on the beach, one larger in the grass and one smaller below, which crouched and covered their faces. Rifles were aimed but not fired, and the figures later left into the bush, with further eye-shine, scenting sounds, and a tree bent as one departed.
