They also reported seeing red reflected eyes spaced a few inches apart. The animal was described as large, but its size could not be judged because of a steep slope, and no tracks or hair were found afterward.

Immediately after, a large upright shaggy creature leapt across the highway in front of the car from right to left and disappeared into roadside vegetation. The companion reportedly saw nothing, and the witness did not mention it at the time to avoid alarming the companion.
