The witness was deer hunting alone from an elevated stand in early morning mist when a strong musky odor hit. A dark shape circled at about 75 yards for several minutes, moving heavily through leaves and sounding bipedal, before running off. The witness estimated its height at seven to eight feet despite never getting a clear view.

The witness and a relative were driving at night and stopped in the middle of a desolate road so the witness could step out. After a warning from the relative, the witness heard branches breaking and increasing footsteps from woods by the road and saw a tall dark upright figure running toward the car. The witness got back in the car and drove away, then saw the figure standing in the road behind them in the brake lights.

The witness was driving alone on a deserted hilly road shortly before midnight when he saw a brown hairy animal on all fours that he first took for a large deer. When he closed to about a hundred yards, the animal stood on two feet and ran silently into the woods. She looked out and watched a very large, dark, hairy bipedal figure move quickly uphill into dense pine forest. After feeling uneasy in young fir trees and hearing a loud snap near a brush pile, they noticed something pacing them in brush. About 100 yards from the paved road they saw the head and shoulders of a seven-foot dark silhouette between poplar trees at sunset; it shifted its weight, confirming it was solid, and they retreated to the road.

Two witnesses delivering newspapers stopped their pickup on a rural dirt road around 3:30am after seeing a large hairy ape-like figure standing in the headlights. They heard distant howls that grew closer, then screams and crashing as something rushed toward them. One looked back while crossing a fence and saw a large hairy stocky creature chasing them, then they reached the house where it threw objects and damaged trash cans, fencing and a window, with a strong odor noted.

They later found uprooted small trees, additional tracks in camp, hair on fencing, and a woody debris structure, and heard screaming and a howl that prompted a relative to leave camp.

Through dense woods they saw bulky upright figures, first taken for a standing bear but judged to be something unfamiliar with a large upper body and no visible neck. They reported an overpowering odor, snapping twigs, loud crashing through trees, a low growl, heavy footsteps they could feel, and a loud thud. As they ran back to their car, the reporter glimpsed huge hairy legs and a large hand with long dark nails, then they drove away quickly after the car lurched.

The witness was leading a small ROTC patrol on a nighttime escape-and-evasion exercise along creek and cliff trails. The group heard movement and walking above them with small rocks falling, found no one when they climbed to search, then heard heavy running footsteps and branches being swiped aside approaching them that caused the patrol to flee to a field edge. The opposing unit later said it never left base, and a next-day visit found snapped branches above head height but no tracks.

The guest described dogs being attacked over several nights, one killed in a gorge with two puncture wounds and no blood and another badly cut but surviving. Days later a partner taking garbage out saw a very tall ugly figure eye-to-eye from a deck. The guest heard heavy crunching footsteps in the gorge, shouted, fired a rifle into the air, and listened as it paused then jumped a high bank without breaking stride and moved away.
