After settling in Oklahoma, tribal members reported food thefts and disappearances attributed to man-like beasts. A party of 30 warriors rode out to a hilltop to confront them. In the fight the creatures were killed, but the captain and previously missing women and children were found dead and buried.

After thefts of food and disappearances of women and children, tribal leaders sent mounted warriors to confront man-like beasts. The party rode for hours and charged a group seen from a hilltop amid a strong smell of decay and a mound of victims. Gunfire and hand fighting left the creatures and their captain dead, and survivors buried the dead.
