The witness and his wife were sitting by a campfire late at night drinking coffee when a strong sulfur-musty odor drifted into camp. A piece of wood then flew into camp and struck their trailer, and after the odor returned a rock was thrown into camp near them. The wife also heard distant screams that evening, and no other people were seen in the immediate area.

The companion heard the sounds and smelled the odor but did not see the figure, and the pair quickly returned to their vehicle.

A large, dark-furred creature jumped down onto the roadway, turned toward the vehicle with its arms out, then crossed both lanes in three long strides and vanished near a driveway. After rolling down the window, the witness noticed a strong garbage-like odor. The witness stated the animal was neither a bear nor a human and offered the opinion it was a bigfoot.

Last summer the witness was kayaking down a creek around midday when rocks splashed near him. He looked toward the source and saw a creature kneeling like a person, which then stood, made eye contact for about 30 seconds, and ran through the woods. The witness and a companion camped beside a river and heard loud yelling that dropped into a groan or growl, followed hours later by closer calls, heavy footfalls, rustling on a hillside, and a large splash in the river. They could see nothing by flashlight from their vehicle. Shortly after, occupants of a passing car stopped and said a massive hairy figure had just run across the road in front of them.

Two people had been fishing at Caesar Creek Lake and were packing up after sundown when a growling/hissing sound came from the treeline. They shone a flashlight into the woods and saw green eyes, heard trees and brush thrashing as something moved, and smelled a strong scat-like stench. After watching about five minutes they gathered gear and walked back to the parking area feeling watched.

Early in the morning the witness stepped onto a second-story apartment balcony and turned on the light. She immediately heard a loud primate-like scream followed by woo-woo calls, which set a neighbor's dog barking. After several minutes she noticed a tree rustling, heard low grunts and footsteps along a privacy fence, and watched a very wide, hunched, ape-like shadow lumber along the fence line before two figures reportedly moved off together into the dark.

The witness reports having been stopped in a vehicle for about 20 minutes. During that time they heard two very loud tree-knock-like sounds and a rock was thrown near the vehicle. They also reported a strong animal-like odor.

During a BFRO expedition the guest hiked about two and a half miles from base camp with two companions and got lost. They found a sandy dugout with many scattered leg bones and antlers but no heads or spines. The guest glimpsed a cone-shaped hairy head in his periphery that dropped down fast, but when they checked sixty feet away there were no tracks, scat, sounds or movement.

The witness and his wife were driving home at sunset when a large dark figure crouched in their lane. They braked as headlights lit it, and it stood to about eight feet, covered its face, then stepped over a fence post and ran toward the woods. Both occupants smelled a strong foul odor like garbage or a dead animal.

While walking a ridge the witness noticed bent saplings and knocked on a tree, receiving clear wood-knock replies from a steep kettle below. A large living oak branch was then twisted toward the witness and ripped off, falling to the kettle bottom. Returning later with two companions, they found fresh twist damage and hand-like bark rubs with strong odor, then a young companion saw a light-colored bipedal figure and all heard a deep growl.

In the early afternoon the witness and companions were walking down an old logging road when they heard strange whistling, gurgling pig-like sounds and trees shaking nearby. The witness approached to about 30 feet and saw the back of a light beige, clean-haired figure with darker face and hands holding trees, which then struck trees, turned away, and ran off on all fours while whistling continued from across the road. Companions farther away heard the whistles, thuds and thrashing but did not see the figure.

The witness was driving home at night when the headlights illuminated a tall grayish-white upright figure starting to cross the highway. The witness stopped and watched it cross slowly from right to left, noting very long arms, a hunched posture, and a strong putrid odor through the open window. The figure glanced toward the vehicle and briefly raised an arm as if blocking the headlights before continuing across.
Possible nighttime encounter by a couple camping near Martinsville
A couple camping alone in a state forestry heard large movements around camp all evening. Around 2 a.m. the husband saw a tall hair-covered biped beside their SUV and illuminated it before it ran past him over a gate into the woods. Later both heard knocks and rocks striking their tent for about an hour until a large rock tore the tent roof. Next morning they found partial prints and fresh bark damage before leaving.
Eight years ago like it was only eight days
The witness and a companion were in bed at a rented cabin late at night when their dogs became agitated and then unusually quiet. A companion heard heavy breathing just beside the front door in the dark and noticed a strong musky odor. After preparing a light, they found large wet footprints crossing the porch, and the dogs remained unsettled all night.

The witness and a companion were outside a rural farmhouse late at night when they noticed a bright light down the road. The light rapidly approached to within about 35 feet and hovered silently a few feet off the ground. After under a minute of observation, the companion retrieved a spotlight, and as soon as it was aimed the light vanished instantly. The witness checked the area the next day and found no marks or disturbance.

A porch camera later caught a translucent moving outline and a figure walking down deck steps. The witness and two relatives were night fishing from a boat in a remote cove. Something in the woods threw large rocks into the water near and over the boat. They shined a light, heard fast movement in brush, and glimpsed a large dark shape going over a dune before leaving quickly.
