The witness, deer hunting at dawn from a ground position below a relative, watched a tall hair-covered biped step into a fire lane, pause and look toward the witness after hearing the witness speak, then cross and wait in brush before leaving downhill. The witness later found large barefoot-like tracks and noticed a strong foul odor at the crossing site. The witness did not shoot and initially told no one.

In 1963 the witness hiked with family members to Teddy Lakes to fish. While rowing around an island they heard splashing and then found a line of very large, deep, human-like footprints in shallow mud where an animal had exited the water. Screaming reportedly continued for hours, and the next midday they found a snapped vine, bark torn high on a tree, disturbed ground, and a partial large heel print.

The witness and a companion were camping in a tent on the witness's driveway in mid-October. Around 2 a.m. under a full moon, the witness awoke to grunting and snapping trees and saw a large hair-covered figure striking and eating a deer, then dragging it uphill. The figure approached the tent, giving off a strong musky odor and knocking a frying pan from a tree before leaving. In the morning the witness found deer remains, drag marks, and a shelter-like structure of bent and broken pines.

The guest's family walked onto virgin county land across from their home to plan trails. They found dozens of sets of prints of different sizes that dwarfed a child's hand. A foul urinary skunk-like odor hung in the air and the group felt uncomfortable.

Two visiting campers slept in the backyard after leaving gifts including plums. Around two in the morning one unzipping the tent heard something massive right outside that ran past with enough force to shake the tent and fled into the forest, waking the other. Morning showed most gifts gone except one plum and impressions around the tent.

At about age 12 the witness found a gigantic bare footprint in a mud slick by an irrigated lettuce field. He tried to mimic it with his own foot and could not. Feeling watched and seeing a shadow move behind trees after branch snaps, he ran home.

The next day they found their camp destroyed, and after separating briefly one returned to find the companion dead with a broken neck, then fled on horseback through the night.
