While hiking alone near sunset, the witness heard steps that stopped when he stopped. After waiting, he continued on an overgrown trail and heard something pacing him about 15 feet away though nothing was visible. The woods went silent, then something close by laughed like a hyena, and it followed him until near the mountaintop.

The witness was cleaning and preparing an auction site in the mountains when large barefoot tracks were found that dwarfed the witness's own foot. A few days later around midday a massive dark bipedal figure was seen leaning from behind a tree, was photographed, then left with heavy steps and a foul smell as the phone camera failed. That evening and the next night loud echoing vocalizations and loud bird-like whistles were heard while deer disappeared and the woods went silent.

The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.

The guest and his wife joined other researchers for an overnight investigation of a private property where the owner reported pounding and odd signs. After finding large footprints and noticing fresh fallen trees and a strong odor during an ATV ride, the group heard bipedal steps near base camp late at night. The guest watched a large upright figure sway between trees through night vision, saw it reappear squatting, then lose it as it moved over a ridge. The next morning the team found trampled vegetation where the figure had stood and noted they had audio of the event.

The witness was outside at home in the early evening with a west breeze when his dog became fearful, barking and running in circles while facing west. The witness reported a foul odor at the same time, similar to a previous foul-smell incident that had left the dog unsettled for days. No creature was seen, only the odor and the dog's fear behavior were reported.

Late at night the witness and a relative went outside to check a heavy thud behind the house. They saw a deer run past, then a very tall hair-covered human-like figure approach from the woods. A team of four was conducting a nighttime sound survey from a clear-cut overlooking a river valley while one member did a live radio interview from a parked vehicle near the treeline. The interviewer heard repeated charging sounds, footfalls and a grunt-growl from dense brush a few feet away while two teammates uphill watched with a night-vision device. The uphill observers reported a huge 8-foot-plus figure about 25 feet away leaning side to side to look through the trees and moving its arms. The episode lasted about 30 minutes, followed later by a distant scream, and a next-day search found disturbed soil but no footprints.

Investigators found fresh broken trees, dozens of footprints and two nests where a trail crossed a road and staked out the spot. He also saw a large upright human-shaped silhouette move quickly and silently between trees about 50 yards away. He concluded a second individual made the uphill sounds while the seen one moved downhill.

After playing a wedding, the witness drove into the mountains with a recorder and stood on a road when loud calls erupted below. A nearby deer began snorting in alarm and a large heat signature moved behind him on thermal. He backed against his vehicle ready to leave.
