Daytime road crossing on MN-73 near the town of Cook
The witness was driving on Highway 73 in the early afternoon when he saw a large brown animal squatting by the roadside. As he approached, it stood bipedally and crossed the highway in three steps into a swampy area. He stopped and found patted-down grass where it had been but no distinct prints due to wet ground, and noted a strong rancid odor at the site.

In the fall of 1991 the witness was driving home from a sports event on a rural road. The witness saw a very tall, shaggy, human-like creature running alongside the car for a few seconds while noticing a strong unpleasant smell. The creature then left the road for nearby woods, where the witness stopped and saw it again before driving home.
