Camper is subjected to possible intimidation behavior in the Uwharrie National Forest
The witness and a companion were camping overnight in hammocks when a prolonged series of nighttime disturbances began. The witness heard crashing movement, branches breaking, rocks banged together, and a large object thrown through the woods landing nearby. Birds, an owl, and distant dogs vocalized during the sequence, which ended with a long wail, after which the woods went quiet. The pair left the area the next morning.

The witnesses returned to the general area in early October 2004 and reported possible knocks, vocalizations, odor, and a fleeting sighting too dark to discern.
