Early afternoon sighting by hiker near Morton
In the early afternoon the witness and companions were walking down an old logging road when they heard strange whistling, gurgling pig-like sounds and trees shaking nearby. The witness approached to about 30 feet and saw the back of a light beige, clean-haired figure with darker face and hands holding trees, which then struck trees, turned away, and ran off on all fours while whistling continued from across the road. Companions farther away heard the whistles, thuds and thrashing but did not see the figure.

Sasquatch sighting near Chehalis, Washington
The witness and a friend sleeping in the back of a pickup by the barn the next summer were watched for an extended period by a hairy face at the side window that then moved toward the open tailgate and left.
