The witness went outside in the afternoon to retrieve plant pots from the side of the house while a neighboring dog barked. Something unseen in dense brush thrashed vegetation, produced a loud growl, and moved away with heavy pounding steps that shook the ground and broke branches. The witness retreated to a shed and then to the house for a shotgun, and later noted a strong musky odor at the residence.

Late at night the witness went onto an elevated deck after hearing brush noise and animal sounds. Something heavy walked up a ground-level dock and stopped directly beneath the deck. The witness saw only a large dark shape through the boards while it made loud sniffing breaths, then fled back inside.

The witness and two relatives returned at night to a riverside berry area where relatives had felt watched the day before. After retreating uphill and pausing by the car, they heard a branch snap and rustling, and an unseen presence loudly mimicked the witness's whistle by vocalizing.

On graduation night in 1982, the witness hid at the edge of a field to blow a predator call as a prank on camping classmates. After calling without effect, the witness heard a branch snap, turned with a flashlight, and saw a tall male sasquatch-like figure about 10 feet away holding brush aside. After a few seconds the witness switched off the light, heard a noise, and the figure was gone when the light returned.
