DOT work crew encounters growls, knocks, footprints, visual glimpse under bridge for Hwy 96 near Flint RIver
The witness was supervising a crew clearing brush under a highway bridge in the morning. The group noticed a strange odor, heard persistent movement and muffled grunts, and watched something peeping from behind a tree. Later a skinned rabbit hung high in a tree disappeared, bare footprints larger than the workers feet were found in mud by a creek, and loud limb-breaking sounds caused the whole crew to flee.
Odd sounds and animal behavior from the forest cause woman concern
In summer 2000 the witness arrived at friends' secluded, wooded residence near Lovells in early evening to find no one home. While sitting outside, the witness heard movement in the woods and heavy grunt-like vocalizations, initially considering coyotes or a bear. Feeling unnerved, the witness left and returned later, and the residents jokingly attributed the sounds to a local Bigfoot and mentioned their own prior unexplained experiences.

Two teenagers camped on a mountain logging road were harassed by thrown sticks, loud grunting and tree-banging sounds, and a strong foul odor. When they shone a light into the woods about 25 yards away, they saw a very tall fur-covered figure that ducked behind a tree. They put out their fire and fled down the trail, saying the figure followed them most of the way back.

While camping with family and friends, the witness's young son ran from a dirt road saying he saw a tall hair-covered man. Later that evening the group heard heavy walking and loud limb-snapping in the adjacent woods and noticed a dead-like smell. The next day they found a bulldozed trail with broken limbs and saplings where the sounds had come from.
