While hunting in the late afternoon, the witness heard a loud long whoop followed by chatter apparently responding to distant shooters, then heard it again from farther along the treeline. The witness then saw a bipedal dark figure about 200 yards away walking in pines toward a break, where it stopped and crouched by a brush pile. The witness left without approaching closely and returned the next day, finding no sign but noticing an unusual odor.

The witness and her husband were sitting in their parked car at an overgrown abandoned graveyard at night. She heard branches breaking, felt watched, and noticed a foul odor, then watched a very tall bulky figure standing between pines and swaying side to side for several minutes before leaving. Her companion in the passenger seat did not see the figure, reportedly because of dashboard light glare.

The witness and his wife sat on his truck tailgate at a power-line clearing late at night when they heard snorting, brush breaking, and a loud growl/grunt moving up a steep hill toward them. The witness saw a large shadow moving on the slope in moonlight, heard breathing and stomping, and smelled a musky sour odor. After revving the truck engine the sounds crashed rapidly downhill, and the pair left, seeing deer run across the road as they drove out.
Two friends have a possible nighttime sighting on a rural road outside Madison
Two companions were riding on a dirt road at night when their headlights illuminated a tall, dark bipedal figure standing in the road. The figure dropped what it was holding and leapt into the adjacent woods. The witnesses stopped and found a half-eaten rabbit at the spot, noticed a musky odor, and found no tracks on the hard-packed ground before leaving.

The witness and two companions hiked to Salt Creek Falls and sat on large rocks while the water was low. During the outing they noticed a foul odor and a sound of trees or brush moving. On the way out they found a very large footprint with distinct toe prints in the sandy creek bank.

The witness was walking alone during a work break to look for arrowheads when he heard movement and grunts near a creek. He briefly saw a large dark man-shaped figure about 6 to 7 feet tall standing in dense woods before it turned and crashed away. He left quickly and initially tried to explain it as a stray horse.

The witness and a companion were waiting on a riverbank at night to help pull rescue canoes from the water. After hearing brush-breaking and grunting sounds for some time, the witness was rushed by a large upright figure that came within about 10 feet while making loud vocalizations. Both individuals fled and the figure did not pursue further.

Two people stood on a hilltop field at night imitating owls to elicit responses. Instead they heard a loud scream or moan from toward the river, heard it again closer after calling again, then heard something large moving quickly uphill through the woods toward them. They retreated to their truck, drove toward the gate, and heard additional screams from the woods and hayfield.
