She glimpsed a reddish-brown figure showing only buttocks and leg as it darted upright into brush to hide. Immediately afterward nearby branches were shaken violently back and forth though no animal could be seen. She left because she was alone and unarmed, remaining skeptical because she never saw the head.

The witness then heard a large splash in the creek followed by paired guttural growls that stopped after the witness whooped, and later described seeing a large hairy figure peeking from behind a tree across the creek.

A family of four driving through Geneva State Park in daylight stopped after noticing a large dark bipedal figure moving through snowy woods. The figure was watched briefly for about ten seconds before disappearing. Shortly after from a nearby parking lot the adults made whoop calls and heard replies described as whoops, a scream or growl, and wood knocks, while also noticing a strong unpleasant odor.

Between 1 and 4 a.m., after the husband re-entered the tent, the witness and her daughter saw a tall thin figure walk quickly past the tent in the dark and heard slipper-like footsteps on the road. The witness later heard loud chewing and lip-smacking behind the tent and noticed an unfamiliar animal smell. The sounds lasted about 20 minutes and stopped without footsteps after a distant camper door was heard.

They could see nothing by flashlight from their vehicle. Shortly after, occupants of a passing car stopped and said a massive hairy figure had just run across the road in front of them.

The witness ran inside, then returned with a flashlight to find twisted vegetation and snapped branches and noted a foul smell.

He then noticed a tall, hairy biped partly concealed behind a large tree about 25 yards away, swaying from side to side and making short low grunts. After he glanced away to reach for his scoped gun he heard it moving through the woods, and when he looked back it had disappeared.

Two companions hiking back toward their car noticed the woods go silent and heard something moving in brush alongside them and crossing behind them, along with a musky skunk-like odor. Near the last bend the reporter glanced back and saw a wide, dark-brown figure squatting beside a low dead tree about 100 yards away. They kept walking, then ran to the car and drove off and rarely spoke of it afterward.

A couple camping on an isolated site finished dinner and sat by a campfire when the wife felt watched and fearful. The husband searched with lights and briefly saw movement in the trees about 30 feet away, including what looked like a large dark lower leg.
