Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.

Later both heard knocks and rocks striking their tent for about an hour until a large rock tore the tent roof. Next morning they found partial prints and fresh bark damage before leaving.

The two compared accounts the next morning on the drive home and concluded the cause was a bigfoot, keeping it to themselves.

He found droppings in the middle of a large fallen tree bridging the creek where he doubted elk could have left them, and later noted apples and chokecherries were missing from trees that wildlife normally does not fully strip. The grandfather's dogs were unusually apprehensive, and the submitter suggested the odor came from a bigfoot.
