Traveler sleeping at rest stop near Malad City awakened by possible wood knocks
The witness had stopped for the night to sleep in a pickup camper at a freeway rest stop. After first hearing brush-breaking sounds and a single loud wood knock around 11 pm, the witness fell back asleep. Around 3 am closer brush-breaking followed by two wood knocks from separate uphill directions prompted the witness to leave and drive to a nearby town.

Memory told of a possible encounter by a hunter tracking a deer near Sugar Camp
While deer hunting the witness followed buck tracks down to a dense, mossy creek bottom. There he reported an intense putrid odor, a feeling of being watched and hunted, and profound fear despite hearing nothing and seeing nothing. He left quickly with weapons ready and ended hunting for the day.
