They heard cackling, yelping, growling and moaning sounds and found the trail blocked by a large uprooted stump with placed boulders and smashed trees. Two upright figures, one black and one light brown and hairy, were seen moving parallel to the group and leaping down a cliff, while the group felt stalked and watched as they hurried out to the road.

A family of three walking with their dog on a de-activated service road stopped briefly when they heard a deep growl and noticed a strong musky odor. The husband saw a large black bipedal figure running through the bushes parallel to the road about 80 yards away. The group went a short distance farther, smelled the odor again, then turned back after the son refused to continue and the dog yelped and ran back to them.

The witness and a companion canoed to a remote shore of a lake for lunch when they heard growling and smelled a foul odor. They pushed through brush and saw a huge dark-furred biped about 20 feet away apparently feeding on a small animal. The creature stood to about 7-8 feet, looked at them, then grabbed its meal and ran off while the pair retreated to their canoes.

Near Christmas 1980 the witness was riding a snowmobile with a relative on a forest trail at night when they got stuck. Both smelled a strong rotten-meat odor and then the witness saw a fur-covered bipedal figure about six feet tall run across the trail into the bush. The witness found a large bare footprint where it crossed and bipedal steps through deep powder snow. A parent who arrived later saw the remaining marks and told the witness the figure was a sasquatch.

In 1965 a family of five was driving on the Alaska Highway in the early evening when an upright hairy figure crossed the road directly in front of their pickup near Mile 91. The occupants in both the cab and the camper watched it cross quickly. They later stopped at a cafe where the father made a joking remark about what they had seen. A lingering egg-like smell was also noted in connection with the crossing.
