The figure reportedly shielded its eyes from the headlights, made eye contact and snarled to show large teeth, then left into a thicket after about a minute. The witness smelled a rotten odor and heard crashing below, then saw a dark head, shoulders and upper back moving downhill upright for a few seconds before losing sight of it while still hearing movement. Visibility worsened with rain and low clouds and both soon left, with the witness not telling the companion at the time.
