Over time the witness heard voices from the forest mocking her calling her dog Buster, mocking a French bulldog bark, calling her husband's name, and later singing Bella in a high sing-song with gibberish. One Bella episode was captured on a recorder in the garage while the dog barked at the fenceline.

Over about 18 months visiting a remote grow 2-3 times weekly, the witness reports being paralleled, escorted out, growled at, and charged. A young woman and her boyfriend were frog gigging after midnight near a pond when they heard steps behind them. Across the pond they saw a silhouette stand and slap the water with its hands, then both ran to the truck. She later met the investigator at the pond in the rain to show the spot.

Two cousins were bass fishing from a small boat late in the afternoon when bowling-ball sized rocks were thrown toward them from shore. After motoring to an island to confront who they thought was a person, a very large black hairy biped stepped out, screamed, charged and struck one cousin, breaking ribs and puncturing a lung, then threw a log that cut his chin. The creature reappeared, swayed and made clicking mouth sounds, then leapt about twenty feet and ran away on all fours for several hundred yards in seconds.

The witness and friends camped at a favorite ridge site between two ponds and were awakened by loud splashes. Later something circled the tent sniffing closely and gave a deep snarl near the witness's head. Both tent occupants stayed frozen until it left, found no tracks in the morning, and never returned.

The witness and a roommate were walking a forest trail and heard loud hollow mumbling ahead that grew clearer as they approached. They stopped and saw two large upright hairy human-like creatures facing each other below the trail, one gesturing and vocalizing while the other listened. Both creatures appeared surprised to be seen, and the witnesses fled back to their car.

On a later solo effort, the witness used camouflage and sound cover to approach close to a group. He took still photos of a female with a camera set for night use, producing poor images. After being pulled from concealment by the ankle, he was struck by a thrown rock and then nearly hit by a boulder when trying to reach the photo site, so he withdrew.

Soon after the first incident, while riding horseback in sparse pasture, the diarist found two 4-5 foot tall owl-like beings with large eyes and sockets. After moving across the street, the witness heard her puppy growling, then three taps on the front kitchen window. The dog was backed into its crate with hair raised in fear. She checked with a flashlight, saw nothing, and called police to search the property. It never recurred.

While driving at night on a back gravel road, the witness passed a large black animal moving on all fours. He did not see its head or ears and said it did not run like a black bear, which he said are not this far north. He did not stop.
