Daylight sighting by woodsman of two bipeds stalking an elk
The witness was positioned on one mountainside watching across a valley toward an opposite slope where an elk was being stalked by two large brown animals first taken for bears. Viewed through binoculars, the two stood upright and walked on two legs, keeping the elk between them and at times hiding behind trees before entering heavy timber after about five minutes. The outcome for the elk was not seen, but the witness thought the pair probably killed it.

She allegedly broke the horse's neck with one jerk, rendered the peddler unconscious, and dragged the horse to the woods where bones were later found. Pursuers found huge footprints and piles of rattlesnake skins but did not locate her.
