Man has early morning encounter with unidentified creature
The witness was awakened by barking dogs and went out with a rifle to check the property. Something rushed past in the dark and the witness fired shots, then resupplied and smelled a strong fecal and wet-grass odor. From a rooftop perch the witness watched a tall dark figure by a school bus that looked toward him, crouched, then ran away, accompanied by strange howl-growl sounds from dogs nearby.

In early July 1988 the witness was alone at a summer camp when rustling and screams were heard from a rocky ledge above and a white upright figure was glimpsed moving behind trees. The companions were shaken for hours but later denied the incident, and the witness remains uncertain whether it was a costumed person or a real creature.

Late at night in 1963, the witness and four companions were hunting raccoons with dogs in a creek bottom south of Tyler, Texas. After the dogs treed something, the group illuminated a large reddish-furred animal in a pin oak that was howling and screaming while waving its arms and shaking limbs. After someone fired at it with a .22, it growled and the group fled with the dogs back to their vehicles.

Fourteen people stood on a wide trail and bridge at night while the guest gave a whoop. The organizer spotted two figures with thermal optics and the guest confirmed them briefly. One figure stayed by a tree leaning and squatting while another circled behind the group, prompting the guest to lead everyone out.

The witness was camping with his uncle and two cousins when they saw a panning light and several fast black shadows cross a pasture. They challenged a suspected poacher, then heard clear bipedal footsteps outside their tent during rain. Lightning illuminated a massive man-like shadow on the tent with very long arms, which then ran away, prompting them to abandon camp for the farmhouse.

At age 12 or 13 while exploring alone along a cliff top, the witness heard low grunts and rocks rolling below. Looking over the edge, he saw a very large hair-covered creature crouched on two legs overturning large rocks with its arms and hands. Startled, he ran back to his group.

About two weeks later the witness stepped outside the house in the evening and his dog growled from beside him. Across the street by the tire-swing tree he saw two glowing red eyes well above the nine-foot limb as the same tall figure peeked from behind the trunk repeatedly. He concluded it had picked up his scent and returned, and his grandmother again said it meant no harm.

After the night encounter the witness and others returned over about fifteen years to look for tracks, set game cameras, and leave items. The same crippled female was heard, smelled, and twice seen, shook brush, threw objects when angry, tore down a camera tree, liked squeaky toys which she broke and lined up, and watched a dog fetch before disappearing after a road and well brought more people.

Fifteen-year-old twin brothers went swimming in a pond when something grabbed each of them underwater. They escaped to shore and watched a hairy arm take a stroke above the surface before disappearing. They noticed a brief musty smell and never discussed it again until telling the guest.
