The witness and a companion were hiking back up a forested trail in the evening when they heard loud branch-breaking sounds, saw bushes sway, and smelled a strong garbage-like odor. After the forest went quiet, the witness turned and saw a very large, dark reddish-brown, ape-faced head peering over vegetation, which watched curiously for a few seconds before moving behind a tree. The companion heard the sounds and smelled the odor but did not see the figure, and the pair quickly returned to their vehicle.

While camping overnight for an archery hunt, a witness and a relative reported hearing mumbling vocalizations and footsteps around their tent for hours. The relative reported seeing a large hand press the tent wall, and both later reported seeing large upright figures near the truck and treeline, one illuminated by flashlight. After the figures continued circling the camp, the two packed the tent without breaking it down and drove away around 4 a.m.

In the middle of the night something large approached on two feet from a hill, and he placed himself between it and his family while his partner moved the children to the vehicle. He fired warning shots, experienced distorted hearing and an intrusive thought, then saw a very tall wide black figure stop at the wood line about 12 feet away before he backed to the vehicle and left.

A silent light approached, hovered overhead, and shined a bright spotlight on the group, followed by several orange lights rising from the valley floor into the sky. While driving down, three of them saw a huge bipedal shape cross the road and followed it on foot, getting close enough to hear it breathing before it left silently. At sunrise the two who remained saw several tall slender gray-haired humanoids with yellow eyes peeking from cover and felt they were being escorted off the land.

Four youths went hunting past the guest's camp on a logged area near Estacada. After feeling uneasy in young fir trees and hearing a loud snap near a brush pile, they noticed something pacing them in brush. About 100 yards from the paved road they saw the head and shoulders of a seven-foot dark silhouette between poplar trees at sunset; it shifted its weight, confirming it was solid, and they retreated to the road.

The witness was camping with family in a wooded Oregon area near a shallow river and was playing outside a camper while two relatives napped. After hearing underbrush rustle and noticing a small sapling bend, the witness moved closer and saw a large hairy hand reach from behind berry brush to grab berries from about 8 to 10 feet away. The witness ran back to camp without seeing the rest of the creature and later described the hand as clearly a hand rather than a paw.

The group stayed the night under guard and were told something large circled camp all night before they evacuated at dawn.

Later, while sleeping by a low fire, the witness felt warm fur against his calf as his body was spun over, causing him to leap up, and the woman later said the resident figure claimed to have touched him.
