Family has a strange and terrifying encounter while fishing in the Everglades National Park
While night-fishing beside a canal in the Everglades with his parents as a young child, the witness heard something pacing back and forth in dense vegetation behind them. His father threw a piece of coral, shone a spotlight, and shouted, but the movement continued without any visible source or response. Frightened by the persistent, methodical pacing, the family fled in their car without breaking down their fishing rods.

The evening after hunting, the witness and the cousin walked toward the truck at dusk and felt surrounded by unseen sources making varied bird and owl-like animal noises all around them. The witness was scouting for a redfish tournament from a kayak in Florida near NASA property in the early morning. After hearing a large splash, smelling a nauseating odor, jumping wild hogs, and hearing a powerful scream-growl with trees shaking, the witness saw a tall hairy human-like face watching from behind a palm frond. The creature charged to the water's edge about 15 feet away, stopped when the witness raised a paddle and yelled, stared again, then walked back into the woods, leaving the witness physically ill and anxious for weeks.
