The witness was home watching a baseball game when a strange noise from the back porch prompted investigation with a pistol. The witness reported seeing a large dark upright shadow-like figure running toward the woods, firing shots, then seeing it again near an old stable and firing again without hitting it. Afterwards the witness found a porch freezer broken into with frozen food scattered, plus white hairs and ground impressions.

The day after the garden sighting, the mother's brother thought he saw something in his front yard, stepped onto his porch, and faced a large creature about twenty feet away that gestured as if to come here. He went back inside for a firearm and it was gone. Men with dogs pursued it into the hills, lost two dogs, saw its silhouette on the mountaintop after dark, then left.

A young woman and her boyfriend were frog gigging after midnight near a pond when they heard steps behind them. Across the pond they saw a silhouette stand and slap the water with its hands, then both ran to the truck. She later met the investigator at the pond in the rain to show the spot.
