While road hunting with a spotlight, the witness and a friend spotted eyes and a dark silhouette in a field and the friend shot it with a .22. It did not flee but rocked side to side, screamed extremely loudly, and stepped toward them. They left when another truck approached. Next day they found blood and realized it had stood in a deep ditch, implying tall height.

After the road sighting the witness continued to a flooded creek to set duck decoys. He heard unusually loud and persistent hog-like squeals circling at a constant distance, then the woods went silent and a very loud, long scream directed at him caused intense fear. He abandoned his decoys and ran to his truck and later told a friend he thought he had seen Bigfoot.
