The witness and seven companions were staying at a rented cottage on Spectacle Lake. On the night of July 27 they heard intermittent howls from across the lake for about half an hour, then heard a branch break near the tree line. After going to bed something struck the cottage hard, followed by mumbling sounds outside a window and a long scrape along the wall; a morning search found no tracks, damage, or thrown objects.

The witness became stranded alone when a car sank in soft sand on a remote forest road. While digging out the tires, the witness was struck by a thrown rock, then heard movement, footsteps and loud hissing vocalizations from the surrounding brush. A large wet adult creature and a smaller juvenile were then seen at close range crossing the road, throwing material at the car, before disappearing into the forest.

The witness claims a family group has visited a rural wooded property regularly for nearly two years, typically evenings to early mornings several times a week. Reported activity includes footprints, wood knocks, odors, vocalizations, trail and structure formation, and direct sightings with food exchange and close interactions. The witness and three companions took a late-night winter walk on game and recreational trails in the woods. On the way back they heard footsteps and branches breaking around them and something repeatedly threw snow or hard snow clods at them, while dogs barked nearby and a rank carcass-like odor was noticed. They jogged most of the way out, leaving around 3-3:30 a.m., and the witness believed deep snow ruled out a prank by a person.

In September 2003 the witness and a hunting partner were coon hunting at night in a cornfield in Ohio with two hounds. The dogs went silent and their radio trackers gave no signal, then something large circled the men in the corn with audible running and heavy breathing. A large amount of foul-smelling clear slime splattered onto the partner, and the men retreated to the truck to find both dogs cowering underneath, unwilling to load.

They heard growls and vegetation shook violently, so they retreated. The witness and one companion then saw a very tall dark figure with large eyes that appeared to walk on two legs. After the witness threw a rock, the figure walked away but followed the group at a distance as they hurried back to their truck, throwing rocks as they went.

Three teenagers were fishing and cooling off in a creek when something crashed down the steep hillside, threw a rock between them and screamed and roared. They scrambled to the bank and saw a large hairy human-like creature at close range making a display, tearing up ground and showing its teeth. They fled, leaving all their gear, and never returned.

When the witness was 11, he stopped to tie his boot while hiking down a mountain trail with family and friends and saw a large black hairy biped downhill about 50 feet away. The creature moved onto the trail to block him, dropped to all fours, made a low bellowing monkey-like sound and curled its lip. The witness fled uphill along the ridge for about two and a half to three hours while the creature paced him at a distance, shook brush and tossed sticks and a small log toward him, and was seen again briefly from the chest up. As rain began the sounds grew more distant, allowing him to return to the trailhead where a search had started, and he told family he had been chased by a bear.

The witness motored by airboat at night into an oak hammock to gig frogs and stopped for coffee. After hearing tearing vegetation, ground banging and a loud shrieking scream, large clods of mud were thrown at and onto the boat. Shining a headlamp, the witness saw a huge brown-haired biped about 25 to 30 feet away pumping its arms in an aggressive display, then started the boat and fled to the middle of a nearby lake until daylight and has avoided the spot since.

Two teenagers camped on a mountain logging road were harassed by thrown sticks, loud grunting and tree-banging sounds, and a strong foul odor. When they shone a light into the woods about 25 yards away, they saw a very tall fur-covered figure that ducked behind a tree. They put out their fire and fled down the trail, saying the figure followed them most of the way back.

A family living in a rural wood-frame home reported repeated nighttime visits over several years by two large hair-covered bipeds, one larger and one smaller. The creatures were said to peer in windows, mimic an infant's sounds, produce a strong septic odor, throw heavy tanks, damage a vehicle, and leave hair on the house. Livestock on surrounding farms were found dead with intestines removed. After the father fired through a wall at one creature, only the smaller one was reportedly seen, and activity lessened after relatives guarded the house and a protective ritual was performed.
