The witness was night fishing alone from a boat on a T-shaped strip-mine lake when a growl intensified nearby. A large dark figure stood up behind boats on the bank and faced him, then displayed, charged a short distance, breathed heavily, screamed and left vocalizing. He kept a handgun trained on it, drifted away, and watched it disappear into shadows.
Family experiences strange occurences while fishing Kankakee River
Four people were night fishing when the two who stayed by the fire reported footsteps and brush movement behind them. The witness later heard walking sounds, a grunt/growl from 20-30 yards away, noticed a strong pungent odor, and heard a whooping sound from the same direction. As the group walked out around 12:30 a.m. the witness felt they were being followed toward the bridge. No creature was seen.
Camper has nighttime sighting outside of Bunker Hill
Late at night on July 4th while camping behind a relative's house, the witness left the campsite with a flashlight to use the bathroom. About a minute down the trail, a large dark-furred biped crossed the trail about 20 feet away, paused to look at the witness after the witness gasped, then walked away. The witness dropped the flashlight, ran back to camp panicked, and later declined to sleep outside.
