He reported the creature looking in on him, leaving meat, a headless rabbit and herbs he boiled, then carrying him down the canyon over hours or days until a couple in a converted school bus found him and got him to a hospital.

After it stopped he dressed, found no tracks, felt watched while leaving, and drove to a populated rest stop.
