After giving vocal calls from a fishing dock after sundown, the witness got responses, then silence, then rocks splashing near the dock. He went to the parking lot with a machete and faced eyeshine about 70 feet away. He and the creature mimicked each other's movements and exchanged grunts for 20 to 30 minutes until a fishing bell rang and it walked away whistling softly.

In the early afternoon the witness and companions were walking down an old logging road when they heard strange whistling, gurgling pig-like sounds and trees shaking nearby. The witness approached to about 30 feet and saw the back of a light beige, clean-haired figure with darker face and hands holding trees, which then struck trees, turned away, and ran off on all fours while whistling continued from across the road. Companions farther away heard the whistles, thuds and thrashing but did not see the figure.

They quickly lit a campfire and remained at the site for four nights total. They later asked rangers about the sound and checked local animal sounds at home without finding a match.

The witness and her mother heard a whistle around 2 a.m. and went outside to check. From near their elevated pool deck, they shone a flashlight on an unknown figure with red eyes positioned just above deck level. The witness and a friend parked in a car on a wide tractor path near creek bottoms at night to drink before a party. A very large hair-covered biped took one long stride into the path about 20-25 feet away and faced the car for a minute or more, breathing heavily and flexing its fists. After a whistle-like sound from the woods, the creature made a dismissive huff, stepped out of sight in one stride, and left silently. The two men drove away and did not return.

The witness and his wife returned in late January to a rock grotto where he had earlier found a possible bedding area. They found the bed intact but an old wagon moved from a ledge with drag marks in the rock. As they hiked out through a ravine, unseen actors on both ridges followed them for about an hour with knocks, whistles and other vocalizations, shaking and snapping saplings and throwing rocks until the pair reached the woods edge. Neither reported seeing anything.

They heard single and multi-note whistles from multiple directions closing in, heard movement in the stream and road, saw a black mass run through brush, and left hurriedly after a whistle was answered back.

While sleeping in his van in Alabama Hills, the witness woke at 2:30 AM to bird-like sounds shifting to crickets, then a short wailing whistle. Something pressed against the van and shook it violently while he felt overwhelming dread, pressure, inability to move and hear. After it stopped he dressed, found no tracks, felt watched while leaving, and drove to a populated rest stop.

The witness walked alone down a wooded path to a spring on a relative's farm. Near the spring the witness watched a hair-covered bipedal creature squatting and drinking for one to two minutes. A vocal sound from behind startled the first creature to standing and revealed a second taller creature close behind the witness. The witness ran away through the woods to the path and was not followed.
