His friend climbed to peer inside and came face-to-face with a hair-covered, bear-like but man-like creature using a stick, then fled in terror to camp. The group stayed the night under guard and were told something large circled camp all night before they evacuated at dawn.

The guest's grandfather was sitting on his vehicle eating sardines when a grayish hairy figure appeared and stared for several minutes with only slight swaying. He set the food down, left, and found it gone the next day, then left food there about every two weeks and saw the figure a few times.
