Evening sighting by motorists north of Flagstaff
The witness and a companion were driving at night on a lightly traveled road between the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff when they saw a tall hair-covered biped walking on the shoulder. They stopped about 50 yards away and watched it turn to face the headlights, pause and look curious, then take a step toward the car. After the companion screamed it strode into the forest in a few strides, and the pair drove widely around the spot and left the area.

A week later the witness returned to the same woods with a relative and dogs. Footsteps followed them and stopped when they stopped, then something circled them whooping and making gibberish sounds while another answered from the right. Trees sounded like they were being ripped up and the dogs fled the area.

The witness motored by airboat at night into an oak hammock to gig frogs and stopped for coffee. After hearing tearing vegetation, ground banging and a loud shrieking scream, large clods of mud were thrown at and onto the boat. Shining a headlamp, the witness saw a huge brown-haired biped about 25 to 30 feet away pumping its arms in an aggressive display, then started the boat and fled to the middle of a nearby lake until daylight and has avoided the spot since.

The witness and four companions camped overnight on a mountain ridge to celebrate finishing a music recording. Late at night they heard clear bipedal footsteps approaching up a steep slope, followed by breaking limbs and circling around their camp outside the firelight for over half an hour. They also heard loud exhaled huffs that frightened them. They abandoned camp and returned the next day for their gear.

The witness had moved to a remote rural property to help a relative with horses. After months of unease, inner voices warning away from the stable, horses acting strangely, and a sense of being watched while watching television, the witness awoke at night to shaking, heavy breathing and snoring mimicry outside. Looking from an upstairs window the witness saw a very tall hairy apelike form peering into a lower window that turned, vocalized, and frightened the witness into a corner until daylight, after which the witness left the property within days.

When the witness was in elementary school, the witness stopped with parents and companions on a back forest road in Washington while they looked at a truck with trouble. The witness saw a very tall dark silhouette with thick long limbs cross the road in front over a small bridge, moving quickly. No one else in the party noticed it, and the witness recalls no sound or odor.

The witness was deer hunting alone from an elevated stand before dawn under a full moon. A large bipedal figure emerged from dense woods and walked along a pipeline clearing toward his position, then turned to face him after hearing his rifle safety click, walked backward briefly, spun around and reentered the woods. A larger tree nearby then shook violently, and after sunrise the witness and his companion found worn trails and a footprint but no clear tracks.

The witness was deer hunting from an old tree stand on a mountain crest in the morning and dozed off. A strong odor and rustling woke the witness to see a small reddish-brown hair-covered biped below eating discarded fruit. A much larger black hair-covered biped then approached vocalizing, the two interacted and appeared to notice the witness before leaving, and a hunting companion nearby also reported seeing a large upright figure moving fast through trees.

The witness was hunting and walking back to a vehicle when they heard noises in brush and across a field. They crouched in brush and saw a large dark brown creature crouching across the field, which then stood erect, grunted, raised its left arm, and walked back into the woods. The witness did not pursue and left directly for the vehicle.

The witness was deer hunting alone before dawn from a rocky bluff. While glassing the brush-covered mountainside in gray light, he heard a very loud booming scream from several hundred yards upslope that he compared to a woman screaming. He first wondered if someone was playing a trick, but the steep terrain, darkness and dense brush unnerved him and he left the area immediately.

Four youths went hunting past the guest's camp on a logged area near Estacada. After feeling uneasy in young fir trees and hearing a loud snap near a brush pile, they noticed something pacing them in brush. About 100 yards from the paved road they saw the head and shoulders of a seven-foot dark silhouette between poplar trees at sunset; it shifted its weight, confirming it was solid, and they retreated to the road.
Creature seen moving stones and small pieces of wood
The witness was hiking alone on a wooded mountain trail in summer when they noticed a moving, fur-covered animal about 100 yards ahead. Using binoculars and moving closer downwind, they watched it forage, move stones and wood, and stack rocks, noting its tall massive body, reddish fur, long arms, large human-like hands, and dark human-like face. The animal eventually moved back into the forest and the frightened witness ran back to the trail.

Two riders got their bike and 4-wheeler stuck in a pit in a reclaimed strip mine. While working to free them they saw a large brown figure walking along the top of the highwall, crouch down behind a tree and watch them. After about an hour it stood and walked away the way it came, and the riders later left the same direction.
Sighting by two newspaper deliverymen around 3:30 a.m
Two witnesses delivering newspapers stopped their pickup on a rural dirt road around 3:30am after seeing a large hairy ape-like figure standing in the headlights. The figure began to approach the truck and witnesses felt its midsection was clearly not a bear or other known animal. Both noted an overwhelming cabbage-like odor that caused one witness to gag.

Four teenage friends were spending the night around a large fire inside an abandoned steel-mill building. After wild dogs chased something over a nearby coke pile and were thrown off, a massive wolf-like creature appeared on the mound, then confronted the group, stood upright, growled, and followed them into the building up to the third floor while drooling heavily. A passing train sounded its horn, frightening the creature away, after which the group waited before fleeing on foot back to a friend's house.

While driving at night to look at tracks, the guest and two companions saw flashing lights over the ocean and stopped with a highway patrolman to watch. They went to a coastal overlook where five then nine lights maneuvered erratically and pulsed colors. One green light circled after a mental request, another beamed down over the highway stopping cars, then jets scattered them.
Daytime sighting by young girl hiking with family north of Fairfield
While camping with family near a ghost town, the group walked back toward camp with their dog. After the dog was sent into brush, yelped, and fled to camp, the nine-year-old [name withheld] saw a tall hair-covered figure standing uphill watching them. The family ran to camp, set up a string-and-can perimeter alarm, then heard growling and rattling around the perimeter before packing up and leaving.
Man has extraordinary, close encounter while fishing near Huntington
The witness was bass fishing along a lake bank when a commotion in nearby woods drew attention. A large upright apelike creature about seven to eight feet tall emerged, made whoop sounds and a low growl, snapped off a small tree and slapped the ground while staring with flexed muscles. The witness slowly backed away looking down, the animal followed a short distance then turned, paused near a bushy spot, and walked into the woods. The witness rejoined companions who laughed, and has not returned to the area.

In early July 1988 the witness was alone at a summer camp when rustling and screams were heard from a rocky ledge above and a white upright figure was glimpsed moving behind trees. Two companions ran down the hill saying they had encountered a large white humanoid ape-like creature with long arms on a trail that screamed and fled after eye contact. The companions were shaken for hours but later denied the incident, and the witness remains uncertain whether it was a costumed person or a real creature.

Two companions on a hiking and camping trip followed grunting and rock-crashing sounds along a remote game trail. Through dense woods they saw bulky upright figures, first taken for a standing bear but judged to be something unfamiliar with a large upper body and no visible neck. When they returned to the spot the figures were gone, leaving stacked large rocks, broken branches and a powerful dung-like smell, after which they left the area.
