The witness spent a week building a fire pit in a valley behind houses. A very tall dark-haired figure came down the hill, waved and said hello in a flat tone, smiled very widely, then played peekaboo behind trees. It then threw large river rocks from 70-80 yards away, landing close to the witness, who fled home and later estimated its height at 8-9 feet and found a discarded jacket.

Later in a quarry area they reported watching a human-like figure in night-vision goggles that crouched when noticed, followed by a rock thrown nearby, after which they left.

The witness walked through the woods to his deer blind for a late hunt and smelled a foul odor. He saw a large hairy creature with its head in the blind, which stood up and faced him for about 10-15 seconds. After grunting, stomping, and staring, the creature stepped over fences and left into the woods.

The witness stopped his ATV on a forest trail to wait for a slower companion. Small rocks began striking the vehicle, and he saw a tall dark hair-covered figure about 70-90 feet away rise from a low position to standing. He watched it briefly as it stood bipedally and then stepped backward into dense woods, after which he left quickly feeling fear and nausea.

The witness and two friends were on a three-day hiking and camping trip in the mountains near Asheville. On the third day they were spread out traversing a steep slope when the witness stopped to rest and heard movement in thick brush below. Something rushed from behind, knocked him into a tree, then stood over him as he lay on his stomach, vocalizing loudly when he tried to look up and swaying while breathing heavily. It glanced toward a second noise downhill, then left as the friends approached calling out, leaving the witness injured and shaken.

The witness and a coworker were driving home in separate vehicles in the dark when both swerved to avoid a tall headless black shape walking unnaturally in the road. They returned to the spot and found a very large dog-like animal lying across both lanes that lifted its head, growled deeply, stood up on two legs to eye level, stared, then dropped to a crouch and left toward a fenced ditch. A small wet mouse then stood between the two men cleaning itself and showed no fear when nudged, after which both left for home.

Two companions resting on a high rock overlook watched a large dark biped and a smaller blonde biped moving below in a clear-cut and on a fire road. Over about 20 minutes the figures foraged, interacted closely, and walked erect toward and past the observers before disappearing behind trees. Later the same day the witnesses returned to the spot and reported crushed grass, long stride impressions, and large and small bare footprints.

About 25 to 30 yards away they watched a large hair-covered human-like creature with long arms repeatedly striking the water for up to a few minutes. A family living in a rural wood-frame home reported repeated nighttime visits over several years by two large hair-covered bipeds, one larger and one smaller. The creatures were said to peer in windows, mimic an infant's sounds, produce a strong septic odor, throw heavy tanks, damage a vehicle, and leave hair on the house. Livestock on surrounding farms were found dead with intestines removed. After the father fired through a wall at one creature, only the smaller one was reportedly seen, and activity lessened after relatives guarded the house and a protective ritual was performed.

After dark they hid in the locked car overnight and reported the event to their parents in the morning, later learning several sheep had been killed with bellies and internal organs eaten.
