Several children playing outside exchanged yelps and whistles with an unseen source that sounded progressively closer, moving from the mountaintop to the woods' edge. When a boy took a hunting dog to the treeline, the dog stayed silent with raised tail and ears, stopped, and refused to advance. An adult also noted a foul smell during the few-minute interaction, after which the sounds stopped.

From a sixth-floor hotel balcony before dawn, the witness watched a tall hair-covered biped for five to six minutes at a distance.
