Motorists see tall, hairy human-like figure wading across the Colorado River east of Glenwood Springs
Four people driving west on the interstate in daylight noticed a tall, thin, dark hair-covered biped in the Colorado River. The figure leaned slightly forward and swung long arms as it walked across the shallow water toward the highway. They lost sight after only a few seconds at highway speed with no place to stop.
Hunters observe dark creature pounding rocks together
The witness and a relative were hunting elk when they followed a strong smell and clashing rock sounds to a ridge. They observed a large hair-covered animal squatting in a dry creek bed striking two rocks together while vocalizing, which then stood, leapt the creek, and ran upslope out of sight. They later collected two chipped rocks from the spot but found no tracks or hair.
Picnicker has daytime sighting outside Buffalo Creek
In 1978 the witness was picnicking with family near Wellington Lake in the afternoon when she saw a white-furred bipedal creature about 60 feet away. The creature repeatedly stepped out from behind a boulder and ducked back as a companion turned to look, repeating this four to five times before disappearing. The companion never saw it. The creature alternated between bipedal and stooped postures and moved swiftly and silently, striking the witness as playful rather than frightening.
Campers have daylight sighting near Leadville
The witness was camping with family and climbed a hill with cousins, rolling rocks from the top. They heard crashing in aspens across a ravine and saw a tall, long-haired figure standing on two legs about 300 feet away watching them for several minutes. After watching it rock back and forth, the group ran back down the hill. The witness maintains decades later that it was not a bear.
