The witness was deer hunting alone from an elevated stand off a power line in a state wildlife management area on a December afternoon. After hearing heavy breathing and movement, the witness observed a large black hairy human-like figure first on all fours then sitting and standing. The figure vocalized in gibberish-like speech, screamed, grunted, approached to about 30 yards and remained for an extended period before tearing vegetation and moving off. While the witness fled toward a truck, movement paralleled the witness in the woods while vocalizations continued behind, suggesting a second individual, and the witness fired a shot in the air before driving away.

In late August 2012, the witness was exploring the edge of a swamp with a relative when a very heavy pine root fell from high in the air and landed nearby. The witness watched its trajectory and judged it too heavy to have been thrown by a person, noting no one should reasonably be in the swamp at that season. No creature was seen during this incident.

After the witness brightened the headlights, the creature approached, struck the car and leaned on the hood while screaming loudly. The driver broke down on a rainy highway and was working in the back of a tall cargo van. A snorting sound came from outside, and a large hairy face appeared inches away in the open door. The creature vibrated the van with a loud growl, reacted to a pistol, then left. Lightning revealed two more figures nearby, and the driver fired and fled to town.
