The witness parked by a gated abandoned road and walked about a mile, then left the road to inspect tire marks. He found teepee-like stick structures, snapped saplings he could not break, and downed trees funneling movement into a wash. Birds went silent, loud tongue-clicking surrounded him with an answering whistle, and objects sounding like rocks were thrown as he left. From a field with a large quartz rock he saw a dark shape in a distant tree.

While driving at night from Florida, the driver glimpsed a blood-covered man in old uniform standing in a ditch and called 911 to report an injured person. During the call something heavy hit the truck bed, a pale face appeared at the rear window, and pounding and scratching hit the cab roof. The driver accelerated then braked hard, throwing a tall scrawny long-limbed figure over the hood into the road, which stood and ran to the woods. Officers later saw scratch marks on the cab roof.

The witness and a companion were camping overnight in hammocks when a prolonged series of nighttime disturbances began. Birds, an owl, and distant dogs vocalized during the sequence, which ended with a long wail, after which the woods went quiet. The pair left the area the next morning.

The witness went alone to a friend's creek property to pan for gold. After a couple hours he stopped for a break and heard commotion moving through the treetops, then saw a football-sized rock fly over his head and land on the far bank. At about 2 a.m. during a break in a storm, the witness heard something at the backyard wire fence and went outside armed with a relative. They heard footsteps and loud cracks first mistaken for gunfire and fired weapons toward the sound. The cracking was then recognized as wood splitting as a huge tree was pushed over, crashing down and shaking the house, after which the family heard loud footfalls running away.

The witness shot a deer at dusk and dragged it toward his truck after dark. On the trail he saw a widely spaced pair of large eyes at about his own height that stayed after he fired a handgun into the ground, then left to the side through dense brush with loud crashing. He smelled a foul musky odor and found pushed-over vegetation where it left, felt watched while field-dressing the deer, and later found part of the carcass dragged about 300 yards.

The witness camped alone for many days to cleanse after handling a body. After hearing barking and seeing a dark shape swaying in laurel, the witness moved camp. At night three sources around the tent clacked rocks in patterns, pinning the witness in. By morning the offering of pennies and candy was gone.

The witness stayed two nights at a friend's house on a wooded mountain development. On the first night outside the house he reported paired knocking sounds, stones hitting the roof, and a brief glimpse of gray movement. The next day he found two partial human-like footprints in a steep bank near a trail. On the second night he heard more knocks and howling, then was awakened by loud pounding on the roof and walls that the host also heard.

Throughout spring 2004 the witness and several neighbors repeatedly heard what sounded like a bipedal creature walking through woods at night, often while area dogs barked intensely. Three teenagers camping in a field behind a house smelled urine and heard something rushing through nearby woods. They fled toward the house as a tall hairy creature pursued them and later stood over their campfire throwing logs aside. The creature then circled the house and stepped onto the porch during the night before leaving by daylight, with broken branches found the next morning.
