As retold from her mother, an uncle fled a remote farmhouse with his family after a creature harassed them, then returned with another uncle to find the interior destroyed. Years later while working in law enforcement, the witness drove to a remote trailhead to pick up a fire-watcher ranger during a dry fall with active forest fires. Concerned when the ranger did not appear after dark, he walked up the trail with a flashlight and rifle and found the ranger hiding by a rock. Together they watched a tall, long-armed figure with large reflective eyes at the far edge of a clearing for an extended period before it crouched, raked grass, backed into the woods, and circled away crashing through brush. The ranger later said he had already encountered the same figure on the trail, where it screamed at him, caused him to drop his kit, and threw his bag, which was never recovered.

The guest's mother had her front door destroyed by something trying to get inside in the early morning hours. She fired a rifle at it inside the house, suffering hearing loss, and later replaced the door with a metal door with two deadbolts.

While squirrel hunting the witness ate part of a pack of crackers and left the rest on a stump. When he returned the next morning the crackers were gone and small white onion-like wildflowers had been left on the stump. He says this was when he began connecting his experiences.

The witness was camping with relatives south of Crater Lake and sleeping alone in a tent at night. While lying in a sleeping bag, the witness heard footsteps approach from the wooded side and saw a human-like outline shadowed in a distant campfire glow. The figure bumped the corner of the tent, shaking it, paused as if staring, then moved toward the front where it could no longer be heard on pavement.

The witness was fishing alone at a pond in the evening when the birds went silent and he felt watched. He saw a large dark hairy biped step from cedars to a fence about 60 yards away and watch him from beside a tree. He fled leaving his gear, and returned the next morning to find the tackle disturbed and the stringer of fish gone except for one fish head.

The witness and a relative were camping in a remote wooded area when the witness was awakened around 3 a.m. by noises around the truck, including an ice chest being knocked over and a violent impact that rocked the vehicle, followed by a loud piercing scream-like sound. The relative also woke, and in the morning they found the camp in disarray with a dozen eggs missing, the empty carton later found away from camp, and a dent in the truck. No creature was seen and no tracks were found, and the pair stayed up until morning before leaving.

Late one spring night in 1979, the witness and a sibling were in bed in a downstairs bedroom when they saw a tall hairy figure looking in the window and then at the back door apparently trying to get inside. Their mother also saw the figure at the back door and called out for help before contacting the sheriff. Deputies searched the surrounding woods but reportedly found only a burned area of ground from apparent vomit and a small knocked-down tree.

When they unzipped a window they smelled a strong foul odor and saw dark brown fur pressed against the mesh. A family living in a rural wood-frame home reported repeated nighttime visits over several years by two large hair-covered bipeds, one larger and one smaller. Livestock on surrounding farms were found dead with intestines removed. After the father fired through a wall at one creature, only the smaller one was reportedly seen, and activity lessened after relatives guarded the house and a protective ritual was performed.

In 1978 two people were fishing from a boat on a lake at dusk and stopped in a cove. They heard grunting and saw trees shaking violently on a brushy cliff, but saw no animal. Two large rocks were thrown from shore toward the boat, landing very close, prompting them to leave.

The witness was at a cabin in East Texas in the evening and went to her truck to get a wallet. As she grabbed the door handle the whole truck shook violently and she saw a huge dark mass hunched in the bed, taller than the cab. The mass flew silently across the road and railroad tracks while both she and her fiancé watched, and no tracks were found the next day.

Everyone was asleep when screaming and commotion from the pig pen woke the household. The father went out with a flashlight while the family stayed inside. He found one pig scratched as if something had reached over the pen, and the pigs were soon butchered to avoid another attempt.
