During a family stay at a remote lake cabin the witness's stringer of catfish was found cleaned and lined up. Exploring uphill along a stream he watched a small hairy human-like figure play in a dammed pool, smash crawdads together and eat them. When it beckoned him closer he backed away and returned to the cabin without telling anyone.

A young man parked with his girlfriend watched a herd of elk rush past the car, then felt something push the back of the car. He opened the door, turning on the dome light, and came face to face with a tall upright wolf-like creature snarling and drooling. In the summer of 1959 the witness was working as a counselor at a wooded Girl Scout camp. Over roughly two weeks, staff repeatedly heard footsteps moving through the tent area after dark, saw a dark figure near a hut, and found a director's tent ransacked, with deputies searching each day without finding anyone. On the final night the group heard extremely loud screams that moved from near a remote tent toward a pond and creek and found a large maple branch freshly broken off, leading the witness years later to wonder if the visitor had been a Bigfoot.

A mother home with three children saw a large man-like creature approaching. The family fled to a nearby village while the creature broke into the house, destroyed property and ate stored fish. The husband later found large humanoid tracks, hair and blood around the house.

An older woman wrote that she and her uncle set traps for disappearing oranges and caught a tiny hair-covered naked man speaking an unknown language. Police put him in an orange crate, then the house was pelted with sticks, stones and oranges by dozens of similar beings until he was released. A later police worker recalled the crate incident.

A construction crew camped in a Virginia valley in the mid-1930s reported repeated visits by large hairy beings that stole food, left huge footprints, and were seen felling and dragging trees. Early one August morning in 1936 a being reached into a tent and pulled a sleeping worker out by the ankle. Other workers threw hand axes and chased it with rifles and shotguns, firing many shots without killing it, after which sentries were posted day and night.

Russian troops surrounding a cave where rebels were believed to hide threw a rock inside, which was thrown back out. After a shot was fired into the cave, a Neanderthal-like being emerged and was shot dead and buried. A surviving troop member later led others to the burial, where a pinky bone identified as Neanderthal was recovered.

After one miner reportedly shot a creature, several creatures allegedly attacked the cabin at night throwing rocks and trying to enter. Only left footprints were reported the next morning.

In July 1924 near Mount St. Helens, five miners traveling between their mine and cabin encountered unknown creatures and one miner shot at one. That night the creatures retaliated by throwing rocks and trying to force entry into the cabin from all sides including the roof. The attack lasted all night until just before dawn, after which the men agreed never to speak of it.

A prospector camping alone in coastal mountains awoke at night to being carried inside his sleeping bag for hours to a small enclosed valley. There he encountered four hair-covered individuals described as a family group and was held for about six days living on remaining canned food. He gained favor with the younger ones using snuff and handmade utensils, then incapacitated the adult male with a large dose of snuff and escaped during the resulting commotion, hiking south to a logging camp for help.

A woman saw a four-foot object moving along a rear fence and fetched a neighbor, who shot it with a shotgun and saw it drop. When approached, it jumped to hind legs and chased the shooter back into the house, then left toward another town. Strange footprints were later reported nearby.
